Who's that nerd?

Hey you! 

My name is Riikka, I'm from Finland and I'm a nerd. I'm probably not the stereotypical nerd, because I am not super tech savvy nor do I play that much computer or console games, but I'm very passionate about my interests and get overly excited about things even when they are in noway cool or hip, and to me that is what really defines nerds. You can probably tell that I subscribe to a more modern definition of nerdiness.

So what am I so passionate about, you may ask. Here's a list for you:

• Knitting and crocheting I've been doing it since I was 7 years old (duh, this should be obvious from title of the blog).
• Literature and books At the moment especially young adult literature and comics (so much so that I kinda turned that into my career as I am a librarian).
• Board games I love the European style games and think playing games is a great way to spend time with your friends and family.
• TV shows Or I probably should be more specific and say Doctor Who, Eureka, Sherlock, Gilmore Girls, QI and The Big Bang Theory, just to mention few of my obsessions.
• Photography I got my first camera when I turned 10 so by now I've been photographing over 15 years. I don't always do it super much but I love it deeply and still get very excited when I manage to take some especially beautiful or interesting shots.
• Social medias And I'm not talking about just hanging in Facebook all day but how the services work, what's unique to each platform and how to best use them be it for private interactions or for marketing and communicating as an organization.
• Youtube I'm a Nerdfighter (if that says anything for you) and am very interested and invested in the Youtube community.
